Our Ministry Strategy
PLANS TO ESTABLISH FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY
EARLY PHASE DONATIONS
The VIRTUE LITERACY PROJECT Phase One funding goal is $250,000. This is needed to create the initial online search-engine platform and establish organizational structure. Private donations will be also needed to support upgrades to the user experience and raise awareness in Phase Two.
Ongoing revenue will be generated through membership opportunities that will allow site visitors to contribute to the project. Donation memberships will have two inexpensive contribution levels of $9.73 and $33 per year. We are anticipating a conversion rate of ½% to 1% of site visitors to become donor/members, which according to industry standards, is a very conservative estimate. These member donors will also help to drive awareness and spreading the word about The VIRTUE LITERACY PROJECT.
LONG TERM FINANCIAL STRATEGY
As the ministry grows, we will apply industry best practices and establish revenue support streams through sponsor partnerships, foundation grants and advertising. Sponsor organizations will benefit by partnering in our positive mission. Private foundations will be excited to support this innovative and effective approach to family virtue formation. Advertising opportunities on the site will support our work, while also pointing families to other virtuous businesses and ministries. This financial strategy will sustain our success for many years to come.
AS SELF SUSTAINING REVENUE GROWS, PRIVATE DONATIONS WILL NOT BE ESSENTIAL FOR MINISTRY OPERATIONS. NUMBERS ARE LISTED IN THOUSANDS.
RED: PRIVATE DONATIONS, ORANGE: REVENUE GENERATED FROM MEMBERSHIPS, SERVICES, GRANTS, SPONSORS AND FAMILY VIRTUE FUN.
Professional Lay and Religious Leaders
EXPRESS THEIR SUPPORT FOR THE VIRTUE LITERACY PROJECT
An array of professionals, clergy, and educators have reviewed our operational plans, and their feedback reinforces why this ministry is so needed.
“I highly recommend Virtue Works Media. This uniquely valuable online resource will connect parents and teachers to virtue forming books and films. Stories are powerful tools for teaching and fostering virtue in our children and young people. The VIRTUE LITERACY PROJECT will provide connections to the right story for a particular virtue for a specific age level. The rating system is rooted in a solid Catholic theology of virtue. Virtues are universal and this resource will not only benefit Catholics, but also other Christians, and in fact anyone interested in connecting children and teens to virtue-forming stories. I encourage others to support this valuable work.”

The “Why” behind our ministry
VIRTUE IS THE JOY AND STRENGTH OF FAMILY, AND FAMILY IS THE STRENGTH OF SOCIETY.
Together, we can equip families for spiritual success. The moral nutrition information in the virtue ratings for each book, movie, and song empowers parents to choose life-saving content that is healthy for young people’s souls.
Parents need help
protecting children from cultural TOXINS.
Sobering statistics demonstrate that our society is increasingly self-destructive, and bereft of virtue. More teenagers and young adults die each year from SUICIDE than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED (Source: Jason Foundation). Sexual promiscuity and abuse, co-habitation and epidemic levels of STDs are the ‘new normal.” Anxiety and depression afflicts more than 40 million people each year, and the numbers of souls disconnected from the solace of faith in God also continues to rise.
Children and teens are increasingly addicted to screens. Families feel increasing futility trying to cultivate habits of religious piety, self-control, courtesy, generosity and time management in their children. Virtue is the antidote for all the societal suffering we face. Storytelling IS an effective delivery-system for spiritual sustenance and healing. Virtue Works Media will provide an information distribution hub…the access point for families to find the virtue-rich stories they need, at just the times they need them.
